From Scribble to Syndication: Cartoonist Maria Scrivan

On Wednesday, June 14, 2017, syndicated cartoonist Maria Scrivan shared her funniest cartoons from her newspaper comic “Half Full” in a highly visual and entertaining presentation. She discussed her career as a syndicated cartoonist and licensing artist, her work for MAD Magazine and her work’s appearance on national television. Maria described her process and addresses the age-old question “Where do you get your ideas?”

About the Presenter

Maria Scrivan is a syndicated cartoonist. Her comic “Half Full” appears on GoComics and in newspapers, across the US including the LA Times. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications including MAD Magazine, National Lampoon, Parade Magazine, Prospect Magazine, Macmillan Books, Funny Times, Mashable.com, and Salon.com. She also licenses her work for greeting cards to Recycled Paper Greetings, NobleWorks, RSVP and Woodmansterne.
